I lament for the people that have a quick and simple answer to our societal and political problems.
I grew up in a family of people that revered science and they readily acknowledged the notion that there is a lot of grey (gray) in a society that wants nothing more than BLACK AND WHITE.
Some of my parents best friends were their political rivals. They enjoyed Sunday brunch together and appreciated each others point of view. They appreciated when their view points were challenged and were big enough to stop and take pause. It happened on both sides.
They were educated and willing to have their view points challenged. Both recognized that the growth in society was borne with this dynamic interplay.
Best of friends, political differences didn’t sully their friendship or relationship.
